If there's one candy that everyone agrees on — teens, parents, grandparents — it's the Carambar. Long, chewy, a little sticky (ok, a lot) and especially accompanied by its famous jokes. A true icon of the candy aisle.

Where do Carambars come from?

Carambars were born in 1954 in northern France. The story goes that a caramel machine "slipped" and created a bar longer than expected. Instead of throwing it away, they kept it... and it was an immediate success. What was supposed to be a mistake became a classic.

Why is it called Carambar?

Simply because it's CARamel + BAR. Simple, effective — like the recipe.

The game-changer: the jokes

What makes Carambars unique isn't just their caramel taste: it's the little joke inside the wrapper. Riddles, sometimes questionable puns, mini-stories. It's almost become a ritual: you open it, read the joke aloud, sigh, and laugh anyway.
