Neapolitan Taffy – Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry

Neapolitan ice cream, but chewy. Three strips stuck together: chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The candy is firm at the first bite, then becomes pliable, releasing all three flavors at once. Some separate them to eat them one by one.

This is an old-fashioned candy, the kind you'd buy individually at the counter with your change. It remains one of the great classics of bulk candy and is mostly sold out of habit: you grab two or three at a time without thinking.
